Our Story

Who We Are

BZ Opportunity Management is a small proposal consulting firm providing Government contractors with proposal development services, contracts and subcontract support, process optimization, training, and comprehensive staffing solutions. Established in 2018 by industry thought leader Kevin Switaj, we focus on supporting companies who work with Federal, state, and local Government agencies, with an expertise in supporting Federal Government proposals.

We deliver an excellent client experience at every touchpoint and interaction. We intentionally keep our team of consultants small. All our resources come through our industry connections, allowing us to pair the right proposal professional with the needs and composition of the bid team. We tailor our support to the opportunity, budget, and needs of each engagement. We work closely with our clients to provide the right person, not just a resume. Our customized solutions maximize our clients’ chances of success.

The Origins of Our Name

BZ Opportunity Management takes our name from Bravo Zulu. According to the Allied Naval Signal Book, an international naval signal code developed in the late 1940s, combining the Bravo and Zulu nautical signal flags, typically conveyed by flaghoist or voice radio, means “Well Done” with regard to actions, operations, or performance. There is also a personal connection for our founder, Kevin Switaj. The name also incorporates the first initials of the two children. In fact, he came up with the name when putting his youngest to bed. At the time, his toddler son had a nautically themed room, with the Bravo and Zulu flags prominently displayed over his bed. Kevin saw the flags and the name came to him.
