I’ve known Kevin and worked with Kevin, and in his book, he provides readers with his business development, capture management, and proposal expertise. The fun thing is that Kevin peppers his expertise with interesting historical facts from his interest and research into history, particularly American civil war era history and British history and culture. While the subject matter of proposals can be somewhat dry, Kevin brilliantly weaves in interesting historical content, which allows his personality to really come through in this work. The end result is useful professional takeaways in an interesting format that keeps one entertained while at the same time absorbing some real professional insights. The book is a collection of articles and posts so it is easy to read in quick bursts. The author provides scenarios to set the stage or explain a point throughout to contextualize his solutions. He often answers the all important why question when sharing a best practice he has learned. New proposal and business development professionals will gain insight and veteran professionals get tips, reminders and some fresh perspectives. I LOVED his modular approach to writing! This book seems geared more to government proposals but I also found valuable ideas for commercial. A recommended read for any proposal professional.
